Mariana Agathoklis Schlock is Vice President of Communications for MTV. In this role, she oversees all publicity efforts for MTV’s live programming events (“MTV Movie Awards” and “MTV Video Music Awards”) and documentary specials, as well as for the brand’s MTV News, Public Affairs, music, research, digital and social media operations.
Since joining the company in 2005, Ms. Agathoklis Schlock has served as Director of Communications for MTV Games, publisher of the award-winning and best-selling Rock Band™ video game franchise, including Rock Band, Rock Band™2, The Beatles™: Rock Band™, Green Day: Rock Band™, Rock Band™3 and its downloadable content business, as well as lead publicist for the award-winning Dance Central™ video game for Microsoft’s Kinect. Prior to MTV Games, she managed trade, business, consumer and online press outreach, analyst and industry relations and crisis communications for digital properties across the formerly named MTVNetworks Music & Logo Group including: MTVN’s Emmy-winning virtual worlds, MTVN’s mobile channels and applications, MTV.com, digital content syndication, VOD and URGE/Rhapsody.
Previously, she served as an Account Executive at Porter Novelli in Washington, DC and New York, where she represented a diverse range of clients including: ChapStick, The College Board, Gillette, Timberland, Alzheimer’s Association, The Business Roundtable, Plantronics and Safeway. Ms. Agathoklis Schlock graduated with honors from Boston University’s College of Communications. She is based in New York City and proudly bleeds purple cheering on the Baltimore Ravens football team.
